The Engagement Process
We work with companies of varying sizes and in various stages of development; from the very large (e.g., Microsoft, Qualcomm, Ericsson, Intel) to the very small (e.g., AirWave Wireless, iSilk, MobileQ (now Extended Systems).
Our process usually includes an introductory valuation analysis that will define or refine a baseline company value, inventory of assets, and any egregious operating gaps. Upon achieving consensus about the gaps and goals (target exit valuation and timeframe), we provide a detailed project proposal that aligns our activities and deliverables to these exit goals.
Upon acceptance and contract, we generally work in three phases: planning, execution, and exit. We may have an additional contracting process upon completion of the development phase to define and agree upon execution tasks and fees.
Brauning generally spends more time in planning and development with larger organizations and far less on deployment — as most of our larger clients have teams and channels set up for deployment. Our smaller cap clients usually have strong executive and venture teams with deep domain expertise driving planning and development, so Brauning brings more to the table in validation, refinement, and execution services in those situations.
